I never planned to write about school. Honestly, I tried to bury it. But classrooms, chalkboards, teachers, and disasters have a way of following you into adulthood. The only way to come to terms with it all is to write it out. That is what this blog is. School Sucks! is a poetic memoir, a mix of poems, anecdotes, and satirical reflections on stumbling through childhood, surviving the teenage years, wrestling with university, and somehow ending up a teacher. I am not against school, and I believe in the power of education. But I am skeptical of the way school shapes us, how it crowns some and crushes others. This project lives in the messy middle: the detentions, the awkward crushes, the failures, the absurd victories that shaped who I became. Each post will bring you a poem.
